Navigating CityFHEPS

H.E.R. Housing Network guides New York City individuals and families through every stage of the CityFHEPS rental assistance process. While only NYC DSS determines final eligibility and issues vouchers, we provide personalized support to organize your documents, understand your next steps, and connect with case managers.

Our CityFHEPS Navigation Services

Whether you are currently in shelter, facing eviction, or seeking stability in Queens and throughout NYC, we break down complex housing requirements into manageable steps.

Intake and Situation Review

We review your household composition, current living arrangement, income, and any correspondence you have received to map out a clear action plan.

Document preparation

We help you gather and organize identification, income statements, benefit letters, leases, and court records so your file is ready for your caseworker.

H.E.R | Housing Outreach

We assist in connecting you with Homebase or shelter housing specialists, and support your unit search once you receive a valid Shopping Letter.

Important Notice Regarding Eligibility

H.E.R. Housing Network helps you navigate the CityFHEPS process; we do not issue vouchers or guarantee housing placements. Only the NYC Department of Social Services (DSS) determines eligibility and grants official approvals. A Shopping Letter is not a final lease commitment, but we ensure you are prepared for every milestone along the way.  Housing Voucher Help!

Who We Support

Our assistance is open to NYC residents who are living in shelter, undergoing eviction proceedings, or worried about immediate housing loss. You do not need an approved voucher or a completed document binder before contacting us. We meet you where you are and help you identify missing items, understand program rules, and coordinate effectively with assigned public caseworkers.

Start Your Intake Today

Download the fillable NYC DSS-7q apartment/SRO application below. This copy adds fillable fields to the official form; the original wording is unchanged. Save it to your device, complete the applicant sections, and sign where required. Your Homebase caseworker completes the provider sections and submits the full packet to NYC DSS/HRA. The button below opens NYC’s Homebase locations so you can contact the office serving your ZIP code; clicking it does not upload or submit your application. If you are in shelter, work with your shelter housing specialist. For H.E.R. navigation support, use Start Intake.
